Miami County Safety Council

The goal of all Ohio Safety Councils is to increase safety awareness. Ohio has more than 50 Safety Councils, all made up of local companies and typically organized through chamber of commerce, trade and manufacturing associations or other local safety-minded organizations.

These Safety Councils hold regular meetings to examine and resolve potential and existing safety problems. They inform participants about new techniques, products and services and provide a thorough knowledge of these services.

In conjunction with the Bureau of Worker's Compensation's Division of Safety & Hygiene, the Safety Council promotes a greater interest in preventing accidents and disease. Employers who successfully participate in the Safety Council will receive a 4 percent reduction on their Workers Compensation Premiums.

The Saftey Council is open to all companies in Miami County. The annual participation fee is $100 and covers lunches.

Companies with the highest safety records during the year are honored at annual awards events.
