Piqua Teen Leadership
Piqua Teen Leadership Today's Youth ~ Tomorrow's Community Leaders!

THE PROGRAM... The program consists of eight full days during
the school year during the school day and the Schools will excuse your absence
from classes to attend each of our sessions. The students will be required to
make up any missed work or tests. Piqua Teens are introduced to issues by means
of on-site visits, lectures, group discussions and simulations. In each case,
the program is designed to address specific areas rather than vague concepts.
Piqua Teen Leadership is designed to develop and enhance leadership skills and
potential. Participants will be better prepared to incorporate practiced skills
into academic and social development. Dress code is business casual. Piqua Teen
Leadership is administered by the Piqua Area Chamber of Commerce.

THE PARTICIPANTS... The Piqua Teen Leadership program is dedicated to providing basic leadership skills and an awareness about the Piqua Community with the help and cooperation of our community’s leaders. To ensure the success and excellence of this program, we must ask that applicants consider the following expectations and commitments:
Piqua Teen Leadership Expectations:
• Knowledge: Attendees will be exposed to countless learning opportunities.
• Conscientious: A high standard of ethics will be reinforced. These participants will represent Piqua and be looked upon as role models in the community.
• Communication: Tomorrow's Leaders will develop increased confidence and effectiveness as a leader through enhanced personal communication skills.
• Community Awareness: Participants will learn more about the community in which they live.
Applicants can be recommended by citizens, community leaders, school faculty, employers, and Leadership Piqua alumni. Participation in sessions represents a significant commitment of time and dedication on the part of the participants.
Participants are required to attend all sessions
THE APPLICATION PROCESS... Applicants must reside within the 45356 area.
• Applicants are junior or senior in high school.
• Candidates’ names are submitted to their high school for approval and determination if the student qualifies for this program.
• Upon your acceptance to the Piqua Teen Leadership program there will be a $40.00 non-refundable program fee. Checks can be made payable to the Piqua Area Chamber of Commerce.
